GRAB AND LIFT INGOT STACKING ROBOT FOR PRODUCTION LINES

The grab stacking robot is currently used in the Mozal aluminium smelting plant. The main function of the grab is to lift small aluminium ingot stacks from the production line of the plant in order to create larger stacks which are more suitable for storage and shipment.

The grab is engineered to create immense lifting power in order to lift a total of 125kg of aluminium ingots at once. Over the past few years, several fundamental changes to this grab were made with great success. These changes also improved maintainability and repair turnaround times. All spare parts for the grab are readily available by order.
